Madrigals!...(the booze choir of siue?)

So, I made it in to my school's madrigal singers this year (for anyone who doesn't know, it is a renaissance themed choir) and going through the music, all of us noticed a similarity between most of the songs... most of them were about booze or the intake of it. I think it is funny how a bunch of college students are singing about beer! Really, it is a great choir, and we do sing some more serious peices, but our main theme really surprised me.

Oh and for anyone who is interested, I found out that the concert choir's first concert has an all around the world theme, and we are singing pieces in english, german, spanish, latin, french, italian, and even russian, so when I know dates, I will let you know! Also, at christmastime, we will be performing Handel's Messiah with the school orchestra, so that will be really awesome. Thirdly, in November, there will be a madrigal dinner, which is an entire night of renaissance themed music and entertainment. Think of it as an interactive dinner theatre! living the dorm life

so, for those of you who don't know, this is my first semester in a dorm , ever. well, I like it. My roomie is nice, my suitemates are awesome, and life is good. classes start on monday, and I am pretty excited.

the need for a musical

I have been bored out of my mind lately, and every time I try and think of something to do, I always overturn it saying " thats not quite what I want to do", and then I end up still being bored. Then, all of the sudden on Sunday night, while I was working at the muny, it hit me. I really want to be in a musical again. The only problem is that all of my chances to be in one will not come around until next summer. There's the SAT, and at school all of the musicals are over the summer, soI have to wait a whole year before I get to do one. This sucks!

2 weeks and counting...

2 weeks from today, I move into the dorms on campus. I am super excited to be back with my friends, probably make some new ones, and have a few days to do just whatever before classes start. Ugh, that's what I am not looking forward to, classes. Now, the ok ones like choir and voice lessons are fine, but going back to my music theory class does not exactly make me very cheerful. Oh well, I guess you can't win 'em all.


Off the subject, if anyone wants to donate to the send Alli to europe fund, I need to raise about $1200 by sept 30. I am currently still at $0. I love you all!
