Pirates, papers, packing ,and... ANOTHER CONCERT?
I just finished the 3rd of 6 performances of Pirates of Penzance, and because us "smart kollege stoodents" (as we like to call ourselves) decided to save the parties for the weekend, I was home by 10:45! I swear, the audience gets better and better each night. Our lead's voices are soooo tired, but they still sound unbelievable. Seriously, if you have nothing to do Friday thru Sunday, it is a really, really good show. Info is in the previous post. (If you decide to go, call me 314-402-7963 so I can make sure they are not sold out!)
The day after Easter, I had 2 major papers due, and Pirates rehearsal. It sucked! On top of that, I am getting the normal "one week left" stuff that is always assigned... which reminds me, I only have one more week left until finals! YAY! (or oh no, depending on how I look at it!). I swear, if anyone knows how to write a paper and sleep at the same time, please share with me! (Oh yeah, I forgot, sleep is for wimps, right?).
In 9 days, I am moving back home for the summer, and I am scrambling for boxes! Apparently, with my terrible shopping (no, make that buying habits), I have acquired a lot more things than when I first moved in, so I don't have enough storage for it yet! AAHHHHH!
And last but not least, 2 days after my show is over, I have yet another choir concert. It is not as lengthy or nearly as hard as the last ones, it is a Broadway concert! My choir as a whole is doing 2 medleys, and that is all I have to learn. The music I am scared of is actually my private voice lesson pieces that I have to do in a jury in 1 1/2 weeks. They are the hard ones, and they must be perfect.
Fun, fun fun!

Tip for moving, as I, too, tend to be a shopaholic: See this as your prime time to go through your belongings and GET RID OF stuff you no longer want, etc. I know it's hard, but I just did it last week, and now my sister in law has 3 new dresses, 3 new skirts, 5 new tops, and 8 pairs of shorts!

Stacey's idea is a good one, but if you're still struggling for boxes afterwards, try checking with local grocery stores. They throw out lots of boxes all the time. They won't all be usable, but they'd probably have a few clean, undamaged ones. Though I never actually did it myself, I had lots of friends in college who did it regularly. Local copy centers might also be a good resource, though now lots of them are also packaging & mailing centers & may want to sell you new boxes rather than giving away all the paper cartons they'd be throwing out anyway. Though I'd never endorse trespassing, etc., I've heard that sometimes just going around to the back where all the dumpsters are (without asking) can sometimes pay off, too. ;-)
